In fact, all of our foil card techniques in use today originate from these master smiths! Each foilsmith was required by the foiler’s guild to complete a six-year apprenticeship and demonstrate aptitude in basic tasks like tempering, card-hammering, and putting-on-the-foil-ing, lest the town suffer without foiled Magic: The Gathering cards. We honor the past by offering all nine foil drops from the December Superdrop, gleaming in Traditional Foil, as intended by our ancestors.
